In 2001, the Reverend, Doctor, & Sifu Chuck Jackson & I began developing CMA (Christ-centered Martial Artists). Pastor Jackson is the co-founder of CMA. We had a vision. Center all of the martial arts that I taught on Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Son of God, the creator of ALL! And so he & I embarked on the most enjoyable, fulfilling journey of all of my life. We began to create Christ-centered Martial Artists, or CMA. In the beginning of this journey, we called it “Christian Martial Arts.” But after Sifu Jeffrey Goodwin Jr.’s amazing Presentation in 2005, we changed the name to “Christ-centered Martial Artists!” Allow me to explain this: Christ-centered was used to be very specific about Jesus Christ as the Messiah, the Son of God, AND the CENTRALITY of CMA; as opposed to just a Christian doing this with Jesus sprinkled over the top. And we no longer called it martial arts, because we are more interested in the person studying, or the martial artist, instead of the many styles of martial arts that exist. CMA is not about styles of martial arts; it is about the artists, the practitioner BE!-ing centered on Jesus Christ! Period!

You see, CMA has arrived, and God-willing, it is not going away! It has come to full fruition. What Pastor Jackson and I set out to create has come to fruition 20 years later! And you’ll find I’m not going to be embarrassed or ashamed to boast of Christ! Jesus Himself stated in Mark 8:38 (NIV): “If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.” Well, I’m not ashamed of Jesus or His teachings! So here goes…

Folks…simply put… We preach Christ! And Him CRUCIFIED! Crucified… without that, Jesus would not have finished or fulfilled all of scripture. This is the core essence of CMA. This is CMA's centrality!

The centrality of CMA IS Jesus Christ as our Lord AND Savior! It is a direct intimate relationship with Jesus Himself, and He alone! We must fix our eyes on the supernatural Jesus, not the idea or philosophy of Christianity. Jesus is Truth itself! He IS as He stated in John 14:6 (NIV) : “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." And in Revelation 1:8 (NIV): “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”  HE IS MY LORD & SAVIOR!
